Oh, you can just buy the magazine.
...wait, unless you have to subscribe? To my knowledge, you just had to buy the mag off the stands and get the code within.

No, you can buy it off the shelves. You'll have to wait longer though.

I think it was wrong for Gaile Grey to be the first one to show off the new mini pet. It took away the fun/excitement from the cummunity to get theres and discover for themselves how the mini pet looks etc in game.

As much as I agree with you, a hairstylist is different. A minipet is completely trivial and serves no function other than being a prize/for fun. While a hairstylist does not directly affect gameplay, your character's hair is a feature defining it's existence, and a hairstylist directly affects your charcter's experience by allowing you to change styles without losing customized items/armor, titles, experiences, and age. So while it is somewhat trivial - certainly so in the big picture - a hairstylist has far more meaning and importance than whether or not your minipet crouches or scowls every now and again.

<speculation>
I hope this isn't a playable race . . . it reminds me too much of WoW.
There are plenty of "better" options already: centaurs, charr, heket, dwarves, etc.

I agree. The character model/design of the Asura isn't any different from the species we currently have in the game now. To name a few such as hekets, dredge, forgottens, skales, trolls and etc. Hmm, if you think about it there are a few creatures currently in GW that look "cartoony" as some people have been describing the Asura.
It's obvious now that the designers got their inspiration for the Asuras from Galaxy Quest :P

The Asura looks cartoony because of it's big eyes, unproportioned body, and the fact that you can relate it to numerous and well-known "cartoonish" characters, namely Stitch and Gremlins (which both give off a cute and goofy presence).
The monsters in Guild Wars look more mythical than they are cartoony. It's better to describe them as fantasy monsters rather than cartoony ones.
In short, the current monsters look more believeable, while the Asura does not.

I agree that it's looks like some "cartoonish" characters (Stitch most definitely), but you have to admit the Asura has some similar features to a couple creatures in this game already. Most likely the dredge http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/ImageredgeScout.jpg
Sorry about the happy face on the link, there's a colon and a capital D together @_@

I can only see a relation between the two in terms of skintone.

I'm hoping the Asura will be treated the same as other GW races like Tengu and centaurs: some enemies, some allies, maybe even 1 or 2 NPCs who work closely with the players. How hard would you fight to defend a little tree-village inhabited by these things? (Haters should not answer that last question.)

How can you say he doesn't fit in the GW scheme of things??
Flashback...
our favorite little imps-in alpha
AND...our little known or remembered friends...the goblins
Sad that ANet continues to think outside the box, while most of you are damned and determined to stay in it!!! Look at it this way, IF the makers of GW/Anet where as unyielding to come out of the box as you are....there would have never been a GW, let alone a Free to play GW.

Are those the same imps they use today, and do the goblins still exist? That's an inquiery, not a challenge to your statement.
